Khairpur police killed 6 ‘notorious criminals’ in one year

KHAIRPUR: Khairpur police during the last 12 months has killed six notorious criminals and arrested more than 500 such elements in around 140 encounters in parts of the district.

Briefing the journalists regarding yearly progress SSP Khairpur Ghulam Zafar stated that among those arrested, two had a bounty on their head.

Police in raids at different places arrested 2,196 proclaimed offenders, 1,662 absconders and 13 people whose had been harbouring criminals.

During this period, police also recovered 14 kks, 18 rifles, 121 shot guns, 409 pistols, 21 revolvers and a big quantity of rounds and cartridges from arrested criminals. Police also recovered 169 kilograms drugs and 283 grams of charas, 9,700 liters alcohol, 2,411 kgs bhang and 680 pockets of gutka (pan prag) from arrested outlaws during 12 months.
