Awareness walk held on Fruit Fly management

ISLAMABAD: Fruit Fly Management Week commenced at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) on Monday.

The week is being celebrated in compliance with the directions of the Agriculture secretary.

The objective is to promote practices for management of fruit flies at mass scale in the province. The campaign is being launched simultaneously in all districts of the Punjab.

At PMAS-AAUR, activities for the week started on Monday with an awareness walk to promote Fruit fly management techniques. Teachers and students from the Faculty of Food and Crop Sciences were joined by those from other faculties. Internees of the Prime Minister’s National Internship Programme also participated in the walk.
