ISLAMABAD: A vicious inferno surrounded Islamabad’s Sasta Bazar in sector H-9 on Wednesday, much of which has been brought under control by firefighters and rescue officials.
Rescue officials said that the blaze, which spread after a shopkeeper lit garbage nearby, has been extinguished in most parts of the bazar courtesy 12 fire tenders, firefighters and with the help of locals.
10 clothing stalls have burned to ashes as a result of the fire, while no causalities have been reported by the authorities. The bazar site is frequently visited by residents nearby and from across the city as it hosts weekly budget markets.
