Asfandyar’s politics

Author: Daily Times

Sir: The head of the ANP, a left-wing political party, strongly criticized PTI Chairman Imran Khan. He said Imran Khan’s war is for the throne of Islamabad & Punjab. He is not interested in eliminating corruption. The accountability bureau/commission in KP has been locked by him.

Deadly dengue has struck KP for the first time. Is this Khan’s change? He also leveled serious allegations against Jamat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq. He alleged that Maulvi Sirajul Haq has amassed wealth in the name of Afghan Jihad. Whether this is true or not, his accountability should also be done.

He questioned why Khan is going back on his word, while Ayesha Gulalai is ready to hand over her mobile.

Asfand was addressing a public meeting in Swabi, KP. He said no Chief Minister of KP has ever danced on the stage. Parvez Khattak is the first one to do so.

Asfand Yar Wali also said our party was not defeated in the 2013 elections, rather the ANP’s mandate was stolen.

He criticised Imran Khan for changing his position. Imran Khan used to raise allegations against Nawaz Sharif to remove him from power.

Asfand Yar Wali refrained from commenting on Fazalur Rehman. I think he is either afraid of Maulana or thinking of forging an election alliance with his party in order to defeat PTI in the 2018 elections.

As far as Sharif is concerned, his comments were quite favorable for him. ANP has been enjoying some kind of alliance with PML(N). ANP is known for entering into odd alliances with the rightist parties.

In my opinion Asfand is the most confused politician. He needs to concentrate on restoring his party’s identity as a leftist party with socialist ideals.
