KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples’ Party’s leader Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has rejected all the claims for Pakistan People Party leadership made by MQM-Pakistan leader Farooq Sattar regarding the Multi-Parties Conference invitation on Tuesday.

Addressing to a presser, Nisar said, “Farooq Sattar has lied in front of public that we accepted the invitation and refused to it at the eleventh hour. Although, we had said that we would turn to them after consultation with the party.

“Neither did the the PPP receive any formal invitation for the now-postponed multi-party conference nor did the MQM inform them about the agenda of the meeting”.

“It is deplorable to accuse any party of supporting London-based MQM faction giving the reason that it did not attend the all-parties conference of MQM-Pakistan the day before”.” PPP is a democratic party which has always overcome hurdles which come on the way of democracy”, he claimed.

He urged Sattar not to give anti-PPP statements. “Farooq must clarify things that who is pressuring them for imposing such accusations.”

Nisar said that they have no any objection if all the breakaway factions of MQM want to make alliance.

He alleged that Farooq Sattar was trying to lobby for the Karachi Package of 25 Billion hence we refused to be part of it.

“Rs 25bn Karachi package is not a favour from the Federal government, but it’s the right of the people of Sindh which has been shared with them from their paid taxes. “We regret the postponement of the conference which was called in hurry.”

Regarding a question related to devolution of power to the local government he said,” Local government officials have been given due authority according to the constitutional laws”.

Responding to a question regarding the refusal for the conference by other parties, Khuhro said he doesn’t hold influence to impact the decisions of other parties which also boycotted the meeting.
