The prices of solar panels in Pakistan have experienced a substantial decline, making solar energy a more viable option for individuals and businesses. As per reports, the price of solar panels has fallen by 53% in just one year, from Rs 80 per watt to Rs 37 per watt. This substantial decline is attributed to surplus supply within the domestic market and a decrease in international prices. Over the past six months alone, prices have plummeted by approximately 30%, making panels from various brands available for roughly Rs 37 per watt.
As a result of this price adjustment, the price of a 5-kilowatt solar system has notably decreased to Rs 2,15,000 compared to the previous year. Consequently, the overall expense associated with acquiring such systems has diminished by a staggering Rs 4,30,000. While the reduction in solar panel prices brings about positive implications for consumers seeking affordable renewable energy solutions, it’s important to note that prices for inverters and batteries have remained unchanged amidst this shift.
