Zardari congratulated for acquittal from all charges

GUJRANWALA: Pakistan People’s Party Information Secretary Sagheer Butt on Saturday congratulated former president Asif Zardari over his acquittal from the last reference from accountability court. Addressing a party meeting at his office, he said the government had falsely involved Zardari in the “politically motivated” cases. He said our leader has been declared innocent from the courts while those who filled false references in NAB, now has been declared corrupt by the supreme court and also being faced the references and cases of corruptions in NAB also. Sagheer Butt said those who had filed the references should confess before the nation that they had done so on political grounds and to carry out media trial and character assassination of the PPP leadership. He said the PPP was not against accountability and wanted severe punishment of the people who had committed wrongdoings and corruption. But use of accountability court for political purposes should be stopped in future. He said as the PPP leader has declared innocent in all references, now who was responsible for eleven years imprisonment of Mr. Zardari which he suffered in past.
