Pakistan and war on terror

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Pakistan has suffered more losses than American in War on Terror. Pakistan’s “war on Terror” has cost $118 Billion; according to the State Bank of Pakistan. About 5498 Pakistani soldiers have lost their life compared to 2386 American soldiers in Afghanistan. Total 80000 Pakistani have been killed in the US-led War on Terror.

Besides, the war badly affected “Foreign Direct Investment” in the country. For instance, the total FDI during Musharraf regime was $18 Billion. It reached to $6 Billion between 2008 and 2015. Moreover, five million people, from 2004 to 2014, have been displaced, according to “International Displacement Centre.”

Instead of accusing Pakistan of harboring terrorist, Mr Trump should realise that Pakistan is also victim of terrorism and is committed to address the issue.
