KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Tuesday directed Interior and Foreign Ministries to present the policy statement regarding swap of convicted prisoners between Pakistan and UAE.
A division bench heard a petition for bringing back nine Pakistan female convicts presently languishing in UAE jails back home so that they complete their sentences here.
The court directed the ministries to inform the court about existence of any agreement between Pakistan and UAE for convicted prisoners’ exchanges or any change in the agreement.
A deputy attorney general (DAG) informed the court that there existed an agreement for prisoners swap between Pakistan and UAE, however the federal government had seized implementation on it.
