NAB gives clean chit to Nawaz Sharif in Toshakhana vehicle reference

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) gave a clean chit to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in the reference related to Toshakhana vehicles.

Judge Nasir Javed Rana heard the reference against President Asif Zardari, former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif, Yusuf Raza Gilani, and others in the Accountability Court of Islamabad regarding the vehicles of Toshakhana.

Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer Rana Muhammad Irfan while Arshad Tabreez Advocate appeared before the court on behalf of President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman of Omni Group Anwar Majeed.

During the proceedings, the anti-graft watchdog submitted a report to the court.

According to the report, NAB said that in the year 1997, the car gifted to Nawaz Sharif by the government of Saudi Arabia was deposited in Toshakhana and later the gift car was included in the federal transport pool.
