Over dozen smoke-emitting factories sealed in Muridke

More than a dozen smoke-emitting factories polluting the environment were sealed in Muridke.

A hefty fine was also imposed on the factories using tyres as fuel. Assistant Commissioner Shaukat Sindhu took the action on the instructions of Sheikhupura Deputy Commissioner Dr Waqar Ali Khan. Bhatti Paper Mills, Imran pyrolysis plants were among other factories sealed.

Speaking to the media, the assistant commissioner said that he took action against the factories on the instructions of the Punjab government. “We will not let anyone play with the lives of the people.” He hinted at action against the illegal sale of petrol and gas refilling units after Eidul Fitr.
