LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is likely to visit the shrine of Sufi Saint Hazrat Ali Hajveri (RA) after Eidul Azha before the NA-120 by-poll, scheduled to be held on September 17, depending upon his next visit to the city.
Though the date for the visit of the PPP chairman is not fixed, the party has planned to make arrangements for the visit of its supremo after Eidul Azha.
PPP insiders Friday told Daily Times that Bilawal would just visit the shrine of the Sufi saint, which falls in the NA-120 constituency, and would not hold any public meeting in the constituency as per the rules announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). They said that the party had not decided that whether its nominated candidate for the by-poll, Faisal Mir, and other party leaders would join their leader or not.
Moreover, they said that the visit of the Bilawal would be finalised after security clearance.
It might be mentioned that the PPP had held a successful public meeting in the NA-120 in Krishan Nagar two days ago in which the party’s local leaders participated in good number. Political pundits are of the view that the party is working to gain grounds in the city after two decades.
