FIA Lahore arrests human smuggler linked to Greece boat tragedy

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Lahore arrested alleged human smuggler Waris Ali — wanted by authorities since 2023 — from the Sheikhupura district in connection with his alleged involvement in the tragic Greece boat accident. The FIA spokesperson said the accused Ali also committed fraud on an innocent citizen of Rs2 million under the false promise of securing the person’s job in Italy. The victim has been missing since the Greece boat treaty.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone conducted four raid operations in Multan Road and Shahdara Town areas and arrested a suspect Sikandar Bhatti involved in stealing electricity. The team cut illegal connections and seized cables along with other equipment used for the unlawful supply of electricity. FIA team also lodged four FIRs against the accused involved in stealing electricity by hooking the direct line in their shops, hotels, and plazas.
