LAHORE: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Friday announced to hold a torch rally on The Mall today (Saturday) in connection with the killing of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and the election campaign for the NA-120 by-poll. The decision to this effect was taken at party’s meeting held on Friday in which PPP’s candidate for the bye-election Faisal Mir, party’s Lahore chapter president Azizur Rehman Chann, secretary Israrul Haq Butt, Altaf Qureshi, Faiza Malik, Usman Saleem Malik, Aasim Bhatti, Zuhaib Butt, Asif Nagra, Esmail Butt and Hafiz Zubair Kardar and others participated. PPP central Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira is expected to lead the rally. After the meeting, the party held door-to-door campaign, urging voters to cast their ballots in the favour of the PPP.
