CM congratulates intermediate exams position holders

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the students who secured top positions in the intermediate examinations of educational boards in the province.

In his message of felicitation, the chief minister said that the students getting positions with their abilities and hard work had made their parents and teachers proud. “Such brilliant students are our heroes… The hard work of these students … [proves] that nothing is impossible if hard work is employed and it is my conviction that one can achieve glory and honour in society with hard work,” he added.

The chief minister said that position holders were brilliant stars and the nation was proud of them, as they had achieved this position with their continued hard work and dedication. “It is heartening that some of the students, despite having fewer resources, have achieved top positions with their commitment, hard work and passion.”

He said that good results of such students belonging to low-income families was commendable, as the education of such students had been arranged by their parents after sacrificing their own needs. “It is good that the students have also come up to the expectations of their parents.”

He said that the vision gained through education helps in overcoming fanaticism and violence, besides promoting societal norms of tolerance in society. He said that the parents and teachers of position holders also deserved accolades and hoped that the topper students would achieve more successes by further improving their educational performance.

Meanwhile, health experts and representatives of different companies engaged with the health sector in the UK called on Shehbaz Sharif at the Pakistani High Commission in London. On the occasion, different matters of mutual interest, including health sector reforms in Punjab, investment and improvement in healthcare facilities, came under discussion. The health professionals, experts and investors expressed their satisfaction over the policies of the Punjab government and praised the outsourcing of janitorial services and the policy of public-private partnership.

While inviting Pakistani doctors, health experts and the UK-based companies to extend their cooperation and invest in the health sector in Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif said the Punjab government had introduced revolutionary reforms in the health sector and told them that steps taken for improving the health sector were bearing fruit. “Improving the healthcare facilities is my mission and every sort of step has been adopted to move further in this regard.” He said that healthcare road show had been successfully conducted in London and the participation of senior representatives of British healthcare companies, investors and medical experts in large numbers was a matter of satisfaction. “Suitable recommendations have been finalised to further improve the health sector through this road show and the participants have desired to invest and cooperate with the health sector of Punjab.”
