Three-day Thailand Exhibition kicks off in Karachi on 22nd

KARACHI: To explore the trading opportunities between the two countries, a three-day single country Thailand Exhibition is being organised from September 22-24, 2017, at Pearl Continental Hotel Karachi.

The exhibition is being managed by Event and Conference International Pvt Ltd, and the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Royal Thai Government.

Sharing details about the event, Rashid Ul Haque, Director, Event and Conference International and Event Manager said that during last few years there is a substantial development and relation building between the two friendly nations in every aspect including diplomatic and specially trade relations. However, this exhibition is a distinctive effort of the Department of International Trade Promotion, Royal Thai Government to expand opportunities to the business communities of both countries, which will consequently strengthen the economical relations, he added.

There is immense potential in trade between two countries and trade has increased to 430 – 676 million US dollars approximately within few years. Major Export from Pakistan to Thailand is yarn & fibers, chemicals, finished oils, edible meat etc. Main import from Thailand is household products, food items, beverages, medicines, cosmetics, herbal products, motorcycles & auto parts, rubber products etc, he further added.

Rashid Ul Haque told that there are many potential sectors in which we can be benefited mutually like hotel and tourism, construction, leather, agro-based industries & fisheries, power generation, infrastructure development.

Besides, the exhibition is supposed to be a meeting forum open to all interest local-wide traders and importers as well as top-end consumers, and the public at large. It is a good prospect that the exhibition will be able to welcome around 50,000 visitors from all walks of life.

The exhibition will accommodate 45 companies with 8 categories of products as, foods & beverages, garments, medicine, cosmetic & fashion accessories, gift & decorative items, health & beauty, household & kitchenware, leather & footwear products, he mentioned.
