Sir: The Rohingya Muslims are suffering atrocities at the hands of the state of Myanmar. This is a failure not only on the part of Myanmar but also the United Nations and the world at large. Members of the Senate of Pakistan and the National Assembly have urged our government to raise its voice in favour of the Rohingya Muslims and to take up their cause at international forums.
Oppression of any minority group — Muslims or otherwise — is not to be tolerated and is in fact a crime against humanity. The Rohingya, like the Kashmiris, have been suffering for a long time and we must make sure that while we Pakistanis fight for our own Kashmiri brethren we do not forget our Muslim brothers in other states.
