Karachi: Commandant Special Security Unit Mr. Maqsood Ahmed distributed appointment letters to 397 newly recruited candidates at Special Security Unit Headquarters on Friday.
The newly recruited candidates appointed for the posts of Commandos including Lady Commandos and Constable Drivers were declared successful after clearing Physical Test, National Testing Service (NTS) Written Test, NTS Psychometric Test, SSU Advanced Physical and Psychological Test, Medical Examination and Interviews for the jobs advertised on July 13, 2016.
Maqsood Ahmed said that all the recruitments have been made purely on merits and added that a total number of 49660 candidates had applied and 397 from among them were declared successful and selected to join Special Security Unit Sindh Police.
The selection on merit will bring visible improvement and change in the Police Department.
Talking on the occasion, Mr. Maqsood Ahmed directed the newly recruited candidates to pay maximum attention in acquiring professional training so that during service they should serve for peace and stability of this country without any discrimination.
He further said that this is our utmost responsibility to deliver justice to the people and fight against the criminal elements.
Maqsood Ahmed extended his heartiest congratulations to candidates for selection in the law enforcement outfit which has an International Professional Policing Standard.
The Commandant called upon the candidates to acquire all professional advanced training in order to effectively root out the scourge of terrorism and ensure justice to the citizens without being pressurized by influential people.
He also stressed upon candidates that they should ensure better relations with general public.
Welcoming the candidates, Maqsood Ahmed said that you have been selected in the country’s first ISO certified police Unit of the sub-continent.
The ISO certificate has been issued to SSU by United Kingdom Accreditation System (UKAS) Britain on maintaining international standard in the field of Performing Counter Terrorism Operations and Provision of Foolproof Security Services for Important Personalities and Vital Installations, he added.
