LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz said on Friday that accountability was used as a revenge tactic against the Sharif family. She was addressing a women’s convention in Kareem Park, Lahore. During her speech, she said that the love of the people was an asset for her and claimed that the “lion would roar” in NA-120 on September 17.

She reiterated her earlier claims that Nawaz Sharif was disqualified because he did not take wages from his son. Maryam Nawaz said that the people should vote for the lion if they did not approve of the revenge in the guise of accountability. “Do you accept this unjust verdict?” She asked the NA-120 voters, adding, “If you are against the verdict then vote for lion on September 17. Support Nawaz, support progress,” Maryam said. Maryam also hailed the role of female workers of the party and remarked: “The leaders whose sisters and daughters stand with him become invincible.” “Isn’t the load shedding situation better than it was in 2013,” the former premier’s daughter asked the supporters while referring to PML-N government’s policy of progress and development. She urged the women to vote for Kulsoom Nawaz on September 17. She asserted that the closure to Panama Leaks case was ridiculous. Nawaz Sharif was conspired against for over four and a half years, she claimed. Maryam Nawaz said that her father was disqualified for not earning salary from his son’s company. She further claimed to utilise all resources possible to address the issues faced by the people of the constituency. The leader who assembles the support of the women could never be defeated, she said.
