KHYBER AGENCY: Eight people, including six Frontier Constabulary (FC) soldiers, received injuries in two grenade blasts at Torkham border crossing on Friday.
Officials said that Pakistani security personnel deployed at the border were targeted in the attack. “At approximately 1:35 pm, two grenades were fired across the border from Afghanistan. One grenade hit the Torkham gate while another landed in front of the forces office. Six FC soldiers and a ten-year old civilian were injured,” officials said.
Security forces cordoned off the area and took the wounded to FC hospital, Landi Kotal.
The injured, who were from the 123 Wing of Touche Scout were identified as Naik Amanullah, sepoy Abdul Jalil, Fahimullah, Ziaullah, Salman and Abdul Latif. Hospital source said Abdul Jalil was in critical condition.
An investigation has been started with the help of the CCTV footage.
