ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Ahsan Iqbal has been assigned the additional portfolio of Planning Development and Reforms.
“The prime minister has been pleased to assign, with immediate effect, the additional portfolio of Planning Development and Reforms to Ahsan Iqbal,” a notification issued by Cabinet Division in this regard reads. Ahsan Iqbal remained as federal minister for Planning Development and Reforms after the formation of Pakistan Muslim League’s government in 2013. However, his portfolio was changed in newly cabinet formed by the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
The affairs of said ministry were handed over to Sartaj Aziz by appointing him as deputy chairman Planning Commission with a status of federal minister. Reliable sources informed Daily Times that he would continue in his post even after the new development.
