LAHORE: In what seems to be a strange development, more than 12,000 “irrelevant” votes were found in the voters’ list issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to contesters. According to a list of male voters at the Polling Station 157 of Union Council 64, which falls in PP-140 Prem Nagar, around 600 votes were included from other areas of the city like Model Town, Baghbanpura, Township, Punjab Society, Wahdat Road, Samanabad, and Lahore Cantonment that have no link to this constituency. For instance, in the said list, Syed Atif Hussain having CNIC number 35202-5552157-3, serial number of vote 175, who is a resident of Model Town extension, was enrolled to cast his vote in the NA-120 despite the fact that he was a voter of NA-126. Similarly, Sheikh Zeshan Haider ID having card number 35202-6182353-3 and a serial number of vote 165, who is resident of New Islamia Park Samanabad area, which falls in NA-122 constituency, also cast his ballot during the by-polls.
