Khyber Agency marks martyrs day

KHYBER AGENCY: Martyrs day was commemorated on Tuesday to pay homage to the soldiers of Khyber Agency who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

In this connection a simple but impressive gathering was held in Jamrud Tehsil compound. Political Agent Khalid Mehmood, Swat Scouts Commandant Lieutenant Colonel Rahim Baloch, assistant political agents, tribal elders and relatives of martyred Levies and Khasadar troops took part in the event. Addressing the occasion, Mehmood said that purpose of observing the day was to honor and remember the unmatched sacrifices rendered jointly by the troops and tribal for sake of their motherland.

“The martyred Levies, Khasadar soldiers and tribal Maliks restored peace in the area with their blood. Because of these brave persons routine activities resumed and we remain with peace and calm in our homes.” “We should prepare our self for every kind of sacrifice to safeguard our country and the tribal while following foot prints of their Shuhada will never hesitate to lay down their lives for defense of their homeland,” Mehmood remarked.
