ISLAMABAD: An accountability court issued bailable arrest warrants for Finance Minister Ishaq Dar while hearing a reference filed against him by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday.

The reference was filed against the minister regarding possession of assets beyond the sources of income he had revealed.

Dar did not appear before the court despite being summoned multiple times meanwhile NAB officials presented relevant documents before the accountability court.

Later on, the judge issued bailable arrest warrants for Dar on NAB’s request directing him to furnish security bonds of Rs one million rupees in the next hearing on Sept 25.

The judge also warned that non-bailable warrants would be issued if the minister did not show up on the next hearing.
