First T20; Pakistan’s first defeat under Shaheen’s leadership at the hands of New Zealand

Kiwis take a 0-1 lead in the 5-match T20 series

New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 46 runs in the first T20 match to take a 0-1 lead in the series.
In the match being played in Auckland, the Kiwi team was able to make 226 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs, Yui opener Devon Conway and Finn Allen started the batting, but Conway left the pavilion with an individual score of zero, the wicket of the opener. As he fell, Finn Allen attacked the Pakistani bowlers and scored 24 runs in Shaheen’s second over.

Alan Abbas Afridi, who played an aggressive innings of 34 runs off 15 balls, fell victim to Pakistani fielders who dropped two catches of captain Kane Williamson, he was dismissed for 57 and Daryl Mitchell for 61 runs. Other players returned to the pavilion on 21, Glenn Phillips 21, Mark Chapman 26, Adam Milne 10 and Ash Sodhi nil.

On behalf of Pakistan, Abbas Afridi and Shaheen Afridi took 3, 3 wickets while Haris Rauf took 2 wickets.
Chasing the target, the national team returned to the pavilion after scoring just 180 runs in the allotted 18 overs. National team opener Saeem Ayub tried to provide an aggressive start, but he was run out on an individual score of 27. Vice-captain Muhammad Rizwan 25 and Fakhr Zaman proved to be the guest of 15 runs.

Among other players, captain Shaheen Afridi scored zero, while Usama Mir and Abbas Afridi scored one run each. Babar Azam scored 57 runs off 35 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 3 fours, but he failed to win the national team.
For New Zealand, Tim Southee took 4 wickets while Adam Milne and Ben Sears took 2 and 2 wickets respectively.

Earlier, national team captain Shaheen Shah Afridi won the toss and decided to field first.
He said that Abbas Afridi and Osama Mir will make their debut against New Zealand.

On this occasion, Kiwi captain Kane Williamson said that they will try to give a big target against the green shirts.
