Police infrastructure boost to enhance service: IG

Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar made surprise visits to various police stations, police offices, and development projects of the provincial capital. It issued important instructions while reviewing the under-completion construction work. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar first arrived at Qurban Police Lines and inspected the under-construction residential apartments.

Secretary Communication and Works gave a briefing to IG Punjab about the work being completed. IG Punjab directed to complete the construction work of the apartments as soon as possible according to high standards. Later, IG Punjab visited the first Integrated Saiban Center of Punjab Police at Police Station Gulbarg and inspected various departments of the under-construction Sibaan Centre. Dr. Usman Anwar visited the new driving licensing centers at the Gaddafi Stadium. IGP Punjab reviewed the issuance of licenses, and CTO Lahore gave a briefing to IG Punjab about the working and facilities of the Gaddafi Licensing Center. IG Punjab also visited Police Stations Gulberg, Ichra, and Township and reviewed the working of Special Initiative Police Stations. On the occasion of a visit to the CIA Headquarters Township, IG Punjab issued essential instructions to the staff.

Later, IG Punjab reached the Central Police Office and inspected the construction work of the under-construction Police museum. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar ordered the completion of all development works within the stipulated timeline. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that public service delivery to citizens will be faster and easier with the development of police infrastructure. DIG Operations Lahore Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, SSP Operations Lahore Ali Raza, SSP Telecommunication Asad Sarfraz Khan, Chief Operating Officer Safe City Mustanasir Feroze, and CTO Lahore Amara Athar, along with other officers were also present.*

Separately, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has taken notice of the incident of killing 03 people in Mandi Bahauddin and has sought the report of the incident from RPO Gujranwala. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar instructed DPO Mandi Bahauddin to form a special team to arrest the accused. IGP Punjab directed that the accused be charged as soon as possible while investigating every aspect of the incident. IG Punjab said that the accused should be brought to justice, and justice should be ensured for the aggrieved family members on a priority basis.

Meanwhile, Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that the welfare regime and internal working of Punjab Police have been entirely digitized. Various official tasks that took months and weeks will now be completed in days and hours; hence, it will save stationery, expenses, and precious time too.

IG Punjab said that with the cooperation of the Punjab Police IT Branch and PITB, the software has been developed, and the working of the Welfare Branch has become paperless. All medical claim documents from the districts to the welfare branch will now be processed digitally. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the Punjab Police is the first organization to make the service records of the entire force online, from constables to officers. He expressed these views today while meeting the delegation led by Chairman PITB Faisal Yousuf at the Central Police Office. The delegation led by Chairman PITB Faisal Yousuf included Additional DG Qasim Afzaal and Joint Director Salik Farooq. MD Safe City Ahsan Younas, DIG Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, Chief Operating Officer Mustanaser Feroze, CTO Lahore Amara Athar, and other officers were on the spot. During the meeting, an MOU was signed to digitize the working of the Punjab Police Welfare Branch. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar and Chairman PITB Faisal Yousaf signed the MOU.

DIG Welfare Punjab Ghazi Salahuddin said that Punjab Police has made the transfer of funds online in all categories of welfare, including maintenance allowance, last pay, wedding gift, funeral charges, and education scholarships, and no visit of the office is required to collect the assistance amount as applicant will be paid by cheque direct in his account. Speaking at the event, MD Safe City Authority Ahsan Younas said that the Punjab Police is among the few policing organizations in the world that has digitized all the data of the force in one mobile app (HRMIS App), and any officer or official of the force can get relief by applying for departmental matters through this app.

COO of Safe City Authority, Mustanser Feroze, said that the ACR system of Punjab Police is entirely online, ACRs of 500 wardens were processed online in 3 days, and promotions were given. Chairman PITB Faisal Yousaf said that the Punjab Police is like a second home for us; the police have adapted well to the change management of technology. Punjab Police is the number one police force that uses information technology and software. Various issues regarding increasing cooperation in information technology were discussed in detail at the event.

Meanwhile, under the leadership of Inspector General Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the Punjab Police is actively working for the best possible welfare and empowerment of transgender people. In this regard, the Punjab Police has taken another historic step and laid the foundation stone of “Tahaffuz Darsgah” for transgender children in the Jallo area in Lahore with the support of a private welfare organization. The school “Tahaffuz Darsgah” for transgender children is being built on four canals of land. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar was the chief guest of the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Tahaffuz Darsgah. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar laid the foundation stone of an exclusive school for the education of transgender people along with the chairman of the British organization UK Curriculum & Accreditation Body and with some Transgenders.

British organization, UK Curriculum & Accreditation Body delegation, included Zahid Bhatti, Nabil Amir, Abdullah Mushtaq, and Asad Ali Malik. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that joint measures will be taken with cooperation for the education and training of transgender children aged 05 to 18 years.
