Final day of 17th ITCN Asia exhibition today

Karachi: The 17th ITCN (Information Technology Commerce Network) Asia exhibition kicked off on 19th September and will go on till 21st September at the Karachi Expo Centre. The concurrent events of this year’s insightful forum are; Security Asia, Fire & Safety Asia, Lights & LED Asia and Consumer Electronics Asia. This year’s ICTN Asia is greater in scope than all its previous annual events. It occupies over 150,000 square feet of exhibition area and expects more than 600 international and domestic brands with over 150 foreign delegates and participants from more than 25 countries. Over 50 start-up companies and more than 100,000 visitors are expected at the event. Its purpose is to create opportunities for business to business alliances which will allow different parties to leverage their respective strengths for mutual benefit in this fast evolving industry.

ITCN Asia allows the world’s most powerful brands to showcase their ultra-modern products and services and allow the consumers of such products and services to gain exposure to vast array of advanced tech-solutions all under one roof. The forum is supported by the Government of Pakistan, Ministry of IT and Telecom and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). 70 leading experts in the industry will be making insightful speeches and presentations which will explore the route the IT industry is heading towards and provide extensive information on the digital world’s latest innovations. It also features exclusive conferences on ‘Information-Security’ and Financial technologies (FinTech) to analyze the evolving trends & challenges in these fields. These affairs are expected to attract over 700 delegates who will include senior officials such as CEOs, CIOs and CISOs.

The event was attended by the acting US Consul in Karachi, H.E John Warner on the second day. Warner appreciated the events highly informative conferences and presentations. Other prominent dignitaries attending the show included: the former Minister of IT – Prof. Dr. Atta ur Rehman, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh for Information Technology – Dr. Sikander Ali Shoro and the Chief of Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) – Mr. Mohammad Zubair Habib. The highlights of the second day of this event included a high-profiled conference on: “Challenges of Digital Security for Media” and a special summit on “The Role & Importance of ICT (Information Communication Technology) in HEIs (Higher Education Institutions)”.

The event was a recipient of a Platinum Sponsorship by Hikvision, a supplier of video surveillance products and solutions based in China. Brands and enterprises like Jazz, Megaplus and NAFFCO (a supplier of fire-safety solutions and products based in the UAE) were the Gold Sponsors of the event.
