Karachi lawyers strike over police FIR, shut city courts

Author: News Desk

The city’s lawyers have staged a protest strike after the traffic police booked some lawyers in a case. The lawyers shut down the City Courts’ gates, denying entry to litigators in the court complex.

The lawyers’ strike resulted in hundreds of cases fixed for court hearings.

The prisoners from jails were not transported to courts to hear their cases.

Karachi Bar Association has demanded that the IG Police Sindh withdraw the FIR registered against lawyers immediately.

A case has been filed at the City Court police station against lawyers accusing them of subjecting a traffic police official to torture.
