COAS urges HIT to expedite work on ongoing projects

TAXILA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has urged the Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) to expedite work on ongoing projects. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief Wednesday visited the HIT where he was briefed about the pace of work on different defence projects. The COAS appreciated performance and commitment of the industry towards quality production. “The HIT has a history of contributions to strengthen conventional defence capability of the country. No compromise shall be made towards this end irrespective of constraints,” a statement quoted the army chief as saying. The COAS expressed satisfaction on the progress on different projects and also assured his support to the industry. Earlier on his arrival, the COAS was received by HIT Chairman Lieutenant General Naeem Ashraf. Defence Production Secretary Lieutenant General (r) Muhammad Ijaz Chaudhry was also present.
