POF develops new ordnance for Pakistan Navy

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Naval Staff Muhammad Zakaullah inaugurated the use of special arms and ammunition developed by Pakistan Ordinance Factories (POF) for the Pakistan Navy.

Zakaullah commended the POF engineers and the navy team involved in the project for their accomplishment.

Earlier, Lt Gen Umar Farooq Durrani welcomed the Naval Chief at the POF Helipad and introduced him to POF board members and senior POF officers at POF Headquarters.

Director of Exports Usman Ali Bhatti in gave a detailed briefing at the event and told the Naval Chief that POF is a gigantic industrial complex with a strong base which is capable of undertaking the development and production of almost all types of conventional arms and ammunition. He said that POF has always accomplished the targets assigned by Pakistan Armed Forces during war and peace and that they have made huge contributions in making the Pakistan Armed Forces self sufficient.

He informed the Navy Chief that the POF has initiated up gradation of its plants and machinery and that the POF was fully meeting the Pakistan Armed Forces’ ordinance requirements and was also exporting arms and ammunition to 40 other countries. He also stated that the POF was renowned for its excellent manufacture quality.

While signing the POF’s visitor’s book, the Navy Chief remarked, “I am impressed with the quality of work of POF and all those who have participated in this Pakistan Navy project and made it a success deserving high appreciation. We look forward to more cooperation and the development of more products for Pakistan Navy”.
