Female Pakistani shooter secures the 5th spot in the yearly Asian Shooting rankings

Pakistan’s sports shooter, Kishmala Talat, has achieved an impressive 5th position in the annual Asian Shooting rankings, as announced by the Asian Shooting Confederation. The rankings, disclosed at the year’s end, showcase Kishmala’s prowess in the women’s 10-metre air pistol shooting category, earning her a total of 2,505 rating points and a coveted place among the top five shooters. Notably, Kishmala emerges as the highest-ranked Pakistani shooter across all categories in the 2023 rankings, marking a significant ascent from being unranked in the preceding year, 2022.

Her remarkable journey extends to winning a bronze medal for Pakistan in the 2023 Asian Games in the women’s 10m air pistol event, underscoring her excellence on the international stage. Kishmala’s stellar performances were evident in the World Champions and Asian Championship, further establishing her as a rising star in sports shooting.

In a testament to her versatility, Kishmala also secured the 15th position in the women’s 25m air pistol category, showcasing proficiency across different disciplines. Among other notable Pakistani athletes in the Asian Shooting rankings, GM Bashir claimed the 8th position in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol category. In men’s skeet, Usman Chand secured the 10th position, while Gulfam Joseph achieved the 14th position in the men’s 10m air pistol rankings. The collective achievements underscore Pakistan’s presence and prowess in the competitive arena of Asian sports shooting.
