As the general elections loom large, 37 women have filed nomination papers for 31 National and provincial assembly seats of Faisalabad.
Three women candidates each are in the running for both NA-100 and 101. From NA-95, Syeda Huma Batool, Raheela Shahadat and Ayesha Rajab have filed their nominations from NA-97.
From NA-100, Sidra Saeed Bandesha, Urooj Imtiaz Gul and Nabila Sanaullah have filed their candidatures, while from NA-101, nominations of Komal Nadeem Sandhu, Rosheela Asad and Misbah Tabassum have been submitted. From NA-103, Amna Sarfaraz and Iqra Mubarak, and former MPA Firdous Rana from NA-104 are in the running for National Assembly seats.
Tahira Ahmed Khichhi has filed her candidature from PP-98 for the general elections.
Overall, 20 women have submitted their nomination papers for 21 constituencies of the provincial assembly of Punjab from Faisalabad.
