Nawaz tops Lahore’s popularity, Shehbaz follows: Survey

A recent survey has revealed that Nawaz Sharif, the supremo of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former prime minister, is the most popular leader in Lahore, with a 63% approval rating.

Following closely is his brother, Shehbaz Sharif, with a 57% approval rating. According to the survey, Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former prime minister, secured the third position with a 45% approval rating.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and former foreign minister, held the fourth position with a 21% approval rating. Notably, the popularity of Asif Ali Zardari, the former president and PPP Co-chairman, was rated at 17%.

The survey also highlighted the favourable standing of other political figures among the people, including former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, Hamza Shehbaz, PML-N chief organizer

Maryam Nawaz, and IPP leader Jahangir Khan Tareen.

The survey was conducted by Center for Public Opinion Research from December 5 to December 15, 2023, to assess the general problems faced by the public in everyday life and the political pulse in the Lahore district. 1,005 respondents participated in this survey.
