Bilawal decides against contesting elections from Karachi

Author: News Desk

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had not submitted the nomination papers for any of the seats in Karachi. Despite the stronghold in Karachi, the PPP top brass had decided not to contest the elections from Karachi. PPP leader Murtaza Wahab said: “Bilawal Bhutto can contest elections from any constituency he wants to contest the elections from.” In 2018, Bhutto-Zardari started his electoral career in Lyari. Not only this, the NA seat from Lyari is the stronghold of the Bhutto family, as in 1988, former prime minister Benazir Bhutto contested the elections from Lyari. Former president Asif Ali Zardari had also contested the elections from Lyari. Apart from that, former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto also took part in elections from Lyari.
