Recent seismic activity, registering at a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale, reverberated through several cities, inducing widespread panic, including in the federal capital. The Seismological Center has detailed that the earthquake affected different regions in Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, and KPK. Notably, the epicenter was pinpointed in the southwest of Kashmir, with a recorded depth of 11 km. Fortunately, this event resulted in no reported loss of life or property, categorizing it as a minor earthquake.

Just two days earlier, a similar incident unfolded near Islamabad, with tremors measuring 3.2 in magnitude. Residents of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Attock, and other areas were compelled to exit their homes and seek solace in prayer. The Seismological Center, shedding light on this seismic occurrence, disclosed a depth of 25 km and identified Skardu as the epicenter. Miraculously, there were no casualties stemming from this earthquake as well.

Taking a step back to December 18, the citizens of Islamabad and its surroundings experienced intense tremors that sparked fear throughout the region. Once again, individuals emerged from their residences, fervently reciting Kalima Tayyaba as a source of reassurance amidst the unsettling event. These consecutive seismic incidents underscore the vulnerability of the region to such natural occurrences, prompting heightened vigilance among the populace.
