A total of nine terrorists, including seven facilitators, have been successfully apprehended by security forces, marking a significant development in the aftermath of the attack on the security forces’ compound. Among those detained is the mastermind of the assault, who, according to officials, hails from the Daraban area of DI Khan. The coordinated effort led to the arrest of nine individuals, shedding light on the intricate details of the attack that unfolded seven days ago in DI Khan.

As the investigation progressed, officials disclosed that six of the terrorists involved in the attack were identified as Afghan nationals. The intricate web of the plot further unfolded with the revelation that the primary suicide bomber, Hasan, also known as Shukar, originated from Afghanistan and had released a video preluding the attack. The second suicide bomber, Sufatullah Marwat, met his demise during the incident.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, the identity documents of the deceased suicide bomber Safatullah came to light, underscoring his affiliation with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. His father acknowledged this connection, providing a deeper understanding of the motivations behind the attack. Authorities also revealed that five terrorists associated with the TTP Gandapur group played a role in the orchestrated assault.

On the material front, security forces successfully recovered state-of-the-art US-made weapons and ammunition from the possession of the apprehended terrorists, highlighting the sophistication of the operation. Tragically, the DI Khan attack resulted in the martyrdom of 22 security personnel, with an additional 29 sustaining injuries. The tenacity of the security forces was evident as they not only neutralized two attackers but also successfully dealt with two other terrorists involved in the heinous act, further underscoring their commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.
