Pak Shinwari Club wins football tournament

KHYBER AGENCY: Pak Shinwari Club lifted the winning trophy by defeating Aman XI with one goal in the final match of the Independence Day Football tournament played at Tatara Football ground on Sunday evening.

Lanti Kotal Political Tehsildar Tehseenullah was the chief guest on the occasion.

Earlier, both finalist teams, Pak Shinwari and Aman XI, outclassed their opponent teams, Qadeer Football Team and Khyber Rifles, respectively, with visible margin and qualified for the final combat. Hundreds of thousands spectators from across the Khyber Agency witnessed the final match.

Before the start of the final match, players of both teams were introduced to the chief guest. Pak Shinwari Club secured the early lead when its player Saddam made no mistake to put the ball in the goal post of the opponent’s team. Aman XI made hectic efforts to level the score but failed and Pak Shinwari won the game by 1-0.

International players Atiqullah Shinwari, Yasir Afridi and Riaz also took part in the tournament and received thundering applause from spectators.
