ISLAMABAD: Cleanliness in Islamabad is our principal concern. We are working to make the capital city cleaner and more beautiful, Mayor Shaikh Ansar Aziz said on Monday.

He was chairing a monthly review meeting of the Sanitation Directorate.

Senior officers of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), including Chief Metropolitan Officer Asad Mehboob Kyani and Director Sanitation Sardar Khan Zimri, attended the meeting.

“With every passing day there is refinement in performance of Sanitation Directorate. However, we have to travel a lot yet. MCI is exploring multiple options to nail down cleanliness issues in the city for good,” he said.

“We are in consultation process with many stakeholders. MCI is expanding its sanitation operation from sectoral area to all parts of Islamabad,” he said.

The meeting was informed that 171 complaints were received during the month of August, 2017 regarding various issues pertaining to the Sanitation Directorate. The officials said that the complaints were processed promptly.
