House catches fire in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: Valuaables worth millions of rupees reduced to ashes after a fire erupted in a house in Model Town on Saturday.

Anees, a trader informed Rescue 1122 about the inferno. Rescue firefighters rushed there and put out the fire after a two-hour struggle.

Separately, a court accepted bails of 10 accused, including four eunuchs, involved in violating of amplifier act in a wedding ceremony.

Khayal police arrested the accused from a wedding and produced them before Judicial Magistrate Imtiaz Ali.

The judge accepted bails against Rs 50,000 surety bonds each.

Meanwhile, four human traffickers were held by the FIA from Gujranwala, Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin.

Inspector Sajjad Bajwa and Inspector Sarwar arrested Shahbaz Shah, Muhammad Inayat, Ejaz Ahmed and Irfan Ali. The accused were involved in sending people abroad illegally.

Separately, kite string injured a youth in People’s Colony. 18-year-old Fareed was riding a motorcycle when a kite string cut his hands and neck. Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to DHQ Hospital.
