It has been a historic strategy of the domineering mindsets to always remain supportive of oppressors and invaders. The US, a superpower, is also pursuing the same status quo of a domineering mindset. Apart from others, Joe Biden, a democratic president of the US, is seemingly recognized as a keen pro-Israeli president of America administratively. The devastating and collective punishment invasion of Israel on the Gaza Strip after Hamas’s attack on October 7 has palpably disclosed the tilt of Biden’s policy for Israel.
Sadly, more than 15000 civilians have lost their lives–among them, 5500 are children–in the Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip. Upon such cruelty of Israel, considerable protests have been recorded against Israel’s cruelty and violation of human rights. Despite this, Biden remains supportive of aid for Israel.
In the guise of rooting out Hamas, Israel’s devastating attacks have left no place where its attack’s repercussions have not been observed and heard. Even hospitals, which have been declared safe and barren for attacks, according to the Geneva Convention in war, are not safe in the besieged Gaza from Israel’s lethal attacks. Israel’s attack on Al-Shifa hospital was unscrupulously misreported by Israel that Hamas’s missile had wrongly fired on the hospital. Without authentic evidence from Israel, Biden blindly accepted the statement and tried to validate the wrong proposition.
Biden’s alleged extreme inclination towards Netanyahu government would compel his administration to accept the republicans that demand.
Moreover, the complex and infighting Congress has remained a big obstacle for Biden to implement his pledges quickly to flow the aid to Israel.
Though Republicans and Democrats have not been reaching a consensus on the issue of addressing security on the US-Mexico border as Republicans are refusing any bill to be passed, excluding the in-question bill, it seems Biden’s alleged extreme inclination towards Netanyahu government would compel his administration to accept the republicans that demand.
However, the Biden administration has taken adverse action against the Israeli extremists, who are expanding their illegal settlement and attacking illegally in the West Bank, so that they will not get visas. After a huge cry on human rights violations and loss of civilian lives including children in the besieged Gaza across the world and demonstrations, the Biden administration has taken such little action against Israel for saving its face in the international arena.
Sadly, with much effort from Qatar, Egypt and the UN truce was translated and they were struggling for a larger ceasefire but Israel has resumed the war again and it has broken a week, before three days then extended truce. Though a truce was observed for a week, during that on October 29, Israel reportedly killed two Palestinians in besieged Gaza and shelled people on October 30. Despite such loss of civilians and infrastructure in besieged Gaza, Biden has been not ready to ask for a ceasefire as he has been reiterating that Israel has a right of “self-defence.”
Besides, the Western media is also not left behind in portraying Israeli innocents and Palestinian terrorists.
Without collecting authentic evidence and reporting impartially, the Western media is giving priority to Israel’s agenda and reporting what Israeli media and biased journalists are mentioning. So does Biden also tip his finger in the biased water for collecting reports on supporting his legacy for Israel?
After all, considering such harrowing conditions and human catastrophe in besieged Gaza, no democratic country would be sustained to support Israel’s policy of collective punishment and devastating attacks on civilians. Biden should refocus his tilt on Israel, the continuing policy would adversely impact Biden’s politics in the US and across the globe. Biden with such a policy will not be known as a democracy supporter but under the name of democracy, he will be known as an authoritarian and a cruelty-supporter.
