Notices issued to building owners

RAWALPINDI: The Municipal Corporation (MC), the Cantonment Board (CB) and the Rawalpindi District Management have issued notices to the owners and tenants of over 400 dilapidated buildings to vacate them.

According to details, the families in these buildings have refused to vacate them and decided to challenge these notices in the courts.

These dilapidated buildings are located in the areas of Bhabhra Bazaar, near Lal Haveli, Mohalla Shah Chan Chirag, Pull Shah Nazar Ghazni Road, Akal garh, Bagh Sardaran, Nighatpura, Bohar Bazaar, Raja Bazaar, Moti Bazaar, Kallan Bazaar, Purana Qila and Jamia Masjid Road. Most of these buildings are over very old and could collapse during the upcoming monsoon season.
