According to industry tracker Sacnilk, director Maneesh Sharma’s film earned Rs 2.6 crore in India on day 16 of release and witnessed 16.75 percent occupancy in Mumbai and 14.25 percent occupancy in the Delhi-NCR region. Tiger 3 had a thunderous opening on its release day on Diwali as it earned Rs 44.5 crore on day one and continued to earn well for a couple of days before beginning a downward slide. The film’s gross worldwide collection in the first week was Rs 376 crore before it slowed down in the second week.
YRF, on Monday, announced that Tiger 3 tickets will be sold at Rs 150 on week days until November 30. The film’s tickets were being sold at blockbuster rates till now, that is from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000-plus.
The Salman Khan-starrer will earn a little over Rs 450 crore before it marks the end of its theatrical run and makes way for Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, releasing in cinemas on December 1. Animal has already recorded Rs 6.4 crore earnings in advance ticket sales as over 2 lakh tickets are already sold. Tiger 3 is a part of the YRF Spy Universe, which experienced a record high earlier this year with Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan crossing the Rs 1,000 crore mark globally. Tiger 3 is currently trailing Hrithik Roshan’s War by around Rs 25 crore at the global box office, but it cost more to produce.
