Punjab Police registers 7,353 cases against underage drivers

On the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the crackdown of the Punjab Police against underage drivers and without license drivers continues uninterruptedly across the province. IG Punjab said that 99 thousand 764 challans of juvenile drivers were issued in all the districts of the province during current year. 7353 cases registered against underage drivers, 52789 motorcycles and vehicles detained. Similarly, 2029 challans of juvenile drives were issued across the province during the last day, 782 cases registered, 2811 vehicles detained. 6047 challans, 973 cases were registered while 2283 vehicles were impounded for driving without a license across the province. In the last 14 days, 5085 cases were registered against underage drivers in the provincial capital, 4448 cases against drivers without license in 09 days and indiscriminate crackdown is continued in this regard.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has directed the District Traffic Police Officers and DPOs to speed up crackdown against underage drivers and those driving without license. IG Punjab said that unlicensed and underage drivers driving vehicles and motorcycles on the roads do not deserve any concession. Indiscriminate action should be taken against such drivers, strict implementation of traffic rules should be ensured. Dr. Usman Anwar directed that supervisory officers should regularly monitor the crackdown and send reports to the CPO. IG Punjab further said that vigorous action should also be taken against one-wheelers, racing and overloading drivers too.

Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that solving the problems of citizens without delay is the first priority, all RPOs, DPOs should ensure immediate action in this regard. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar sought a report from the concerned supervisory officers on the applications submitted by the citizens and ordered the concerned DPOs to conduct an inquiry under personal supervision and provide all possible relief to the citizens. These views were expressed by IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar while giving instructions to the officers in an open court held at the Central Police Office. According to the details, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar held an open court at the Central Police Office. IG Punjab listened the problems of the citizens and took immediate action and issued orders for solution.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar also heard the applications of the police employees and their families in open court. IG Punjab ordered the Admin, Discipline and Welfare branches to take immediate action on the employees’ requests according to the merits. IGP Punjab directed that applications related to the transfer and posting, pension, discipline and welfare matters should be disposed of as soon as possible on merit. Dr. Usman Anwar further said that all possible relief should be given to the force by taking immediate action on the requests related to health welfare.
