KARACHI: Terming it “treason”, the Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair has ruled out possibility of “technocrat government” in the country saying that the constitution does not recognize any such formation of government.
Talking to a group of Business Reporters at Governor House, Sindh Governor, said on Wednesday that payment of refunds to exporters is the priority of the incumbent prime minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, to encourage and promote investment culture in the country.
He said that the government’s revenue has increased from Rs 1900 billion to Rs 3500 billion and there was no justification to holdback the funds. “Government is cognizant of the fact that it has no right to block the funds”, he added.
The governor said that “proud achievement” of the incumbent government of PML N is the improvement of law and order situation in Karachi and Baluchistan.
He said the government still faces major economic challenges of fiscal and trade deficits. He said that government has strategised to make Karachi peaceful to showcase it as the attractive investment destination.
He termed the China Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC important achievement of PML N government saying it was result of hard work and continued long term efforts. The CPEC would usher Pakistan in load shedding free era as by the April 2018 there would be no load shedding in Pakistan, he claimed.
“When the government of PML N took office, solution to the core problems, law and order and power, were prioritized”, Zubair said adding “the government is successful to large extend. The industrial load shedding is zero at the moment”.
To a question, he conceded that the government unable to properly market its economic achievements.
