APHC Chairman Gilani, Mirwaiz express concern over detention of Aasiya, Rustum Butt

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed concern over the continued illegal detention of Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi and Tehreek-e-Hurriyet leader Mohammad Rustum Butt.

Syed Ali Gilani said that, “Aasiya Andrabi is suffering from multiple ailments and doctors attending Mohammad Rustum Butt have suggested immediate surgery.

According to press release issued, APHC leader criticized PDP-led coalition regime, he deplored that prisoners were subjected to vengeance and no proper treatment was provided to them.

Referring to DeM Chairperson Aasiya Andrabi and her associate, Fahmeeda Sofi, Syed Ali Gilani said their detention was unjustified. He said they are lodged in solitary confinement at Rambagh police station.

He also expressed concern over deteriorating health condition of TeH leader Mohammad Rustum Butt.

He appealed to human rights organizations to take cognizance of the matter.

Meanwhile, the Mirwaiz-led Hurriyet forum in a statement issued in Srinagar while expressing concern over the deteriorating health conditions of Asiya Andrabi and Fahmida Sofi said the authorities are violating fundamental rights of the detainees. The Hurriyet forum termed it a classic example of political vendetta.
