Photo exhibition celebrates 70-year ties of Pakistan, US

KHYBER AGENCY: A four-day photo exhibition was held at the Lincoln Corner Peshawar to commemorate the 70 years of Pakistan and US friendship.

The event was organised with the purpose to share the historic perspective on Pak-US 70 years of friendship by displaying pictures of US and Pakistan presidents and prime ministers at different events.

During the first two days of the exhibition, students, teachers and the Institute of Management Sciences deputy director were invited wherein they were given descriptions about the pictures by Lincoln Corner coordinator and volunteers. A documentary on the history of friendship between the two countries was also screened in the background highlighting the famous events that took place during the 70 years of friendship.

Similarly on the third and fourth day, US alumni, journalists and female students of the Micro Access Scholarship programme were provided an opportunity to visit the exhibition.

Different activities like group discussion were arranged for the visitors with intention to share their views on the history of Pak-US friendship and proposed new ways on the improvement and prosperity of this friendship in future.

The participants were briefed by the Lincoln Corner coordinator about the Pak-US friendship, while a short documentary was also screened for them.
