35 suspects arrested in Sukkur

SUKKUR: In order to avert any untoward incident during Muharram, police along with Rangers Friday continued combing operations in various parts of city and arrested more than 35 suspects. In this connection, Sukkur police and personnel of other law enforcement agencies have also started a survey of guesthouses, inns and hotels.

Sukkur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amjad Shaikh along with Ranger personnel visited routes of the processions and said 1,156 police officials along with 400 Ranger personnel had been deployed on security of Rohri mourning procession. He said that three brigades of armed forces would remain standby in case of any untoward incident.

According to reports, more than 90 guesthouses, inns and hotels in Sukkur and Rohri, had been checked. Reportedly people who failed to provide their proper identification were being detained by security men. All police stations had been directed that no any house owner would be allowed to rent out their houses without informing respective area police station.
