BAHAWALPUR: Youm-e-Ashur will be observed today (Sunday) to pay homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions for the great sacrifice.
A number of mourning processions will be taken out across the Bahawalpur division.
For the purpose, police along with other law enforcement agencies have made foolproof security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident.
In this connection, Bahawalpur Regional Police Officer Riffat Mukhtar Raja visited the routes of processions in Rahim Yar Khan and reviewed security arrangements.
Separately, Deputy Commissioner Rana Saleem Afzal and Acting DPO Rab Nawaz also visited routes of the Muharram processions in Ahmedpur East, Hateji, Uch Sharif, and reviewed security arrangements. In Bahawalpur, the main procession will be taken out from Markzi Shia Jamia Masjid Fathe Khan Bazar at 8am today (Sunday), which after passing through its traditional route will terminate at 7pm at Markazi Karbla Model Town B.
