New limitations have been placed on players who are a part of the national team for the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 by the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI).
To prevent any injuries during the ongoing mega tournament, the board has forbidden the national team members from paragliding and trekking.
The change occurred as a result of the BCCI’s observation of the players’ actions during a recent brief break that they were given after India won five games in a row at the World Cup 2023.
The players were given a brief break of two days by the board, during which time some of them visited their families and the coaching staff and others went trekking for days in hilly areas.
Vikram Rathore, the batting coach for the Indian team, and Rahul Dravid also participated in the tracking. The board ruled that it would be against the terms of the contract for the players to go paragliding and tracking.
India is currently leading the World Cup 2023 points standings and will face off against England on October 29.
