Two FC men hurt in arms depot blast

KHYBER AGENCY: Two Frontier Constabulary (FC) soldiers sustained injuries in a grenade explosion carried out in the forces’ warehouse in the camp of Melwat, Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency.

An FC official said on Wednesday that the troops were busy in cleaning the depot when unintentionally a grenade went off, wounding two FC personnel.

The injured, identified as Zaheeullah and Gul Mukhan Sherani, were shifted to a military hospital where their condition was stated to be stabled, the official said.

Meanwhile, newly appointed Frontier Corp Inspector General Major General Muhammad Waseem Ashraf paid a visit to Landi Kotal on Wednesday.

The IG visited Torkham border and reviewed security measures adopted on the Pak-Afghan border, Torkham.

At the border, the visiting army official met the Afghan border security officials and the Afghan elites and assured them of unconditional assistance for enhancing mutual cooperation and brotherhood between the two neighbouring countries.

In response, the Afghan forces thanked the Pakistan Army official for his best regards.
